Taking A Week Away From the Blogs

You know, every once in a while I get tired of the blog wars and the adults, including myself, who act childish. I'm grateful for Genevive from Ditzy Dems, who put it in perspective and to Kat who continually proves that people who disagree can still avoid being disagreeable to each other. I continue to marvel at how gracious she is. It helped bring my own common sense back a little bit.

I put up a link to Kat's site and I'm also throwing one up to Ditzy Dems. I've been meaning to do it for a while and Genevive's response reminded me it's overdue.

I do want to go out on a high note, so I'm going to recommend another site by a promising young man who is a great writer with the noble ambition of presenting positive news. We should all be so mature. So, if you haven't already done so, go check out WeeWaw's blog. He's got some really inspiring stories.

Meanwhile, I'm taking vacation until after Labor Day. I'll be home but not on the blogs. I need to recharge, pay attention to my family, and get that red out of my eyes. It takes a lot more maintenance to keep me looking good and bloodshot eyes from staring at a computer screen all weekend doesn't improve my appearance.

So, I'll be recharging my batteries, exercising a little, maybe starting a diet, and paying attention to my husband. And when I come back, I'll be ready to write about stuff that really matters.

AIAW: Eeep! You're way to nice, AIAW! I really should have replied to this comment before to thank you for your kind words (you did post this on Sunday), but I did just start law school and I have kind of cut my blog reading down to "silly," and "OMG, they did not say that oh well, I like to argue and I can pretend its practice for litigation." Since yours falls in neither category, it doesn't get read as often as it should.

Have a fantastic week!

Thanks. Unfortunately, I got royally pissed off at DWJ. You will probably read all about it.

What set me off and made me reverse course completely was posting the addresses, especially being careless about Terry Hartnett's. She is a friend of mine.

She no longer lives in Burke, but somebody lives in that house who may now get harrassed.

I really feel the DWJers have jumped the shark for irresponsibility.

But you are very sweet. I always enjoy reading your site because I normally have a sense of humor :)

Oh, I understand and I'm more than a little surprised/irked w/Greg myself. I actually had a scare similar to that in 2005, when someone forwarded my personal email, phone number, and home address (which at the time were also my parents' home phone number and address) to a huge email list just because she was mad about something I was doing and wanted to make a point. Scared the crap out of me, let me tell you! Fortunately, I had no problems, but I was very angry to have my personal information sent to people I did not know- and that was just in an email, the blogs are much more open and your friend seems more involved in organizations that would make people, um, angry, than I was.

Thank you for understanding where I'm coming from. You are, indeed, sweet!
